Investigation of Conversion of Sunflower Oil Production Wastes to High Value Compounds by Supercritical CO2

The evaluation of wastes from edible oil production industry has increasing importance because resources deficiency and growing population day by day. It was aimed to investigate the recovery potential valuable components such as total phenolic contents (TPC), flavonoid content (TFC) antioxidant activities with conventional green extraction methods sunflower wastes. Firstly, Soxhlet applied on waste samples filtration then supercritical CO2 (SC- CO2) performed compare yield. statistical SC- experiments conducted Minitab Software program. concluded that 37% yield obtained mixture perlite sample, while highest observed 27% for perlite-free sample. interaction independent variables (temperature pressure) yields were determined significant (p=0.002). Pressure detected more effective substance extracts than temperature. most efficient conditions 50 oC 22.1 MPa recovery, 60 20 recovery.
